Hello there, would somebody please tell me which of the two is correct:

We are on/in the process of applying for VISA.

Would you please tell me what is the difference between:
1) In the process of...
2) On the process of...

There is no "on the process" unless the "on" is governed by a word that requires it:

Professor Johnson is giving a talk on the process of becoming a citizen.

You can't have "be on the process". You are in the process of doing something.
