One word substitutes

Where do you get these? Are one-word English subsitutes supposed to exist for these, or are you just idling wondering?

Answers here may be correct in some context, but wrong in others:

1>accept as heir = ?

2>ability to endure = endurance/motivated/determined/persistence

3>approved by all = unanimous

4>able to know what is advantageous = astute/sharp/street-smart/quick-witted/smart/bright/...

5>conventional rules of personal behaviour in society = custom/

Oh, I don't think you are idling, but the questions seem like the writer has no idea whether single-word synonyms exist or not. Frankly, I can think of no good single-word synonyms for any but #6-- which is simply 'cash' (v). None of Chris's suggestions are right on the mark, though some of his suggestions approach synonymy.
