One word for someone who speaks the same language

What would be the one word for someone who speaks the same language as you ?

I am hoping for somthing like "compatriot", which refers to a person who belongs to the same country.

Hi,

'Compatriot' would only work in countries where everyone speaks the same language. And it would exclude people in other countries who speak the same language as you do.
