I thought of standpoint, niche and participation, but they do not serve my purpose, I want something more significant.

Clive, actually it is not a word I am searching for putting into a sentence but a caption for a presentation. Like the first one is introduction after which I shall give the introduction of my work. In this way it comes ,the position of my work in comparison with my contemporaries or colleagues .
