Please tell me which one is correct or both are correct?

1. one way or another

2. one way or other

Hume's contention can be avoided by the use of inverse probability, as was seen in chapter 7, and although the justification of induction .......

Is the as-clause correct? I am a bit doubtful about it because there is no subject in it.
