One time at a time

How would you say the underlined parts?

Press the fastforward button one time at a time. Wait to see if you have fastforwarded through whatever you wanted to. If you haven't repress the button. Don't press it 2 times in quick succession/ in a row you might fastforward through something you wanted to watch and have to rewind.

thanks

Thank you WW
I'm pretty sure 'through' is correct.

Thanks
