one swallow doesn't make a summer?
My question is if i can use this phrase in following context.
In my class, there is boy called A. He is a under performer and doesn't has answers to questions his teacher asks. But one day, when he was asked a question and he replied correctly. Everybody stunned and one made a comment that one swallow doesn't make a summer. Is the usage correct here. If not pls tell me phrase that fit in here.

Not exactly... One swallow doesn't make a summer means that you shouldn't put your hope in something too early. The story you shared would fit better with the proverb Silent waters run deep.

Thanks Elanguest! But here we know that this guy is a moron and his answer got somehow right by luck or by fluke. Everybody know that he will not be able to answer any other questions. So is there any other better phrase for this context.
