One situation, could you say following sentences?

Please help me by tell me which of the sentences you can say in the following situation?

I have 2 sisters. One sends me a message for my birthday. Someone takes my phone and reads the message out to me without telling which sister it is. She finally tells me its Sarah. Sarah is the sister who usually doesn't write me.

So I say:

I could wonder which of the 2 sisters actually sent me the message because sarah isn't one to do so usually.
I could start to wonder which of the 2 sisters actually sent me the message. (if you hadn't told me it was Sarah)
If you hadn't told me, I could have wondered who sent me the message.
If you hadn't told me, I couldn't have helped but wonder who sent me the message.

Thank you

There are various ways to say this. However, you should use "would" rather than "could."

If you had not told me it was Sarah, I would not have known which sister called.
