One simple question about dark or darker. Thanks.

Dear all,

Could you tell me which sentence sounds better or correct? Or both are ok. Thank you very much.
A) The sky becomes dark more quickly in winter.
B) The sky becomes darker more quickly in winter.

Sorry, but I don't care for either sentence. The question here is not the speed at which the sky becomes dark but rather the time of day that night occurs in winter. I'd say: Nightfall comes earlier in winter compared with summer.
