One sentence and another question?

"Unlike where I live, the hurricanes here aren't small most of the time."

Is it correct?

Context:

Friend:"Every once in a while we have a hurricane. Most of the time they are small."

Me:"Unlike where I live, the hurricanes here aren't small most of the time."

----------------------------------

Another question:

What does "I'll be there on the second." in here mean?

Context:
"I would like to make a reservation for three nights."
"Ok sir. I have your name. Is it John Roberts? And when will you be coming?"
"Yes, it's John Roberts. I'll be there ON THE SECOND. I think its a Tuesday. Until Friday. I check out Friday morning"

Thank you!
