One of the best memories I will/would never forget

Assuming that I am telling a story of mine. Which one, will or would, is correct?

One of the best memories I will/would never forget was the moment I first saw him.

Thank you.

Could you explain the reason for it?

Because you still have the memory, I presume.

would sounds like you're talking in past-tense. It could work in a story with an omniscient narrator, but usually you'd say will.

If you were saying "could never forget" that would work, because it's possible future tense.

But for would/will, you'll want "will".
