one half bath

Can I say 'a half bath' instead? (i.e. 1/2 bathroom)

Thanks,

I don't see how you can have half a room? It may be small but it's not as if walls are missing!

one half bath

My undertanding is that it has a sink but no tub or shower.

Can we call it 'a half bath'?

In the U.S., a "half-bath" contains a toilet and sink; a "three-quarter bath" contains toilet, sink and shower stall, and a full bath" contains toilet, sink, and bathtub/shower combination.

As to the original question -- can you say "a half bath" instead of "one half bath," I would say yes, definitely. I think it's not "one-half bath," but "one half-bath."

Boy, "half" is sure on

Boy, "half" is sure one of those words that looks weird when you look at it too much!
Yes...as does a half full glass...<hint, hint>
