One flesh?

Hi. Please tell me if we can put a number like "one" in front of what I think is a uncountable, "flesh," as in Mark 10:8 of the Bible? Thank you for your help in advance.

Hi

Looks like Mark 10:8 to me, where Jesus is talking about marriage ...

- And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh

I don't think I agree entirely, but the King James scholars put it well

This idiom only works in a biblical or poetic context - it means that, in a sense, when a woman and man are married, they are no longer

Your question has already been answered but I'll just add that it works for me as well, and I think the second definition from http://www.thefreedictionary.com/one fits the bill:

one adj.

2. Characterized by unity; undivided: They spoke with one voice.
