Is one another only used when talking about people?
My sure the 2 beds aren't touching one another.

First of all... it should be "Make sure". Make sure the 2 beds aren't touching...

Second... I think we use 'each other' when referring to or when talking about 'two' people or things. So, 'Make sure the 2 beds aren't touching each other'.
