I'm not a native English speaker. But to me the one that sounds most natural, is "You have to stay there for an hour an a half". "You have to stay there for one and a half hour" doesn't sound like it has that natural 'flow' about it.

  • I'm not a native English speaker.
  • But to me the one that sounds most natural, is "You have to stay there for an hour an a half".
  • "You have to stay there for one and a half hour" doesn't sound like it has that natural 'flow' about it.
  • However, if you have to stay there for 2 hours or more I would say: "You have to stay there for 2 hours".

Thanks Stormy for your response.

Keep in mind, hour should be plural in the second sentence.

As for two hours, I cannot think of any other way to say it.

I don't get in to the nitty gritty of typos. But if we absolutely have to do that - it's spelled: following.
