Once/when/if

Dear all

I need you to help with this problem I meet very often and I can not find an answer:

I know that after "once", "when" and "if" I can not use the future so for example "Once I will go..."is wrong.

Can instead be used the past? example: "once I have got the info, I will go ahead" ? or should it be "once I get the info" ? Please clarify!

One more doubt is the following:

After "after" and "Before" I usually use the form "ing" and present simple but I am so counfused if possible to say:

"after having sent the offer" or "after I have sent the offer" which is correct?

Please help me!!

Thanks

  • At the risk of repeating myself either one can be correct depending on the context.

Dear,

so you mean that after "once" "if" "when" can be used past and present but never future?

About the second case: could I also say: "after I had sent the offer, I was told that it was too late to proceed" ??

Please confirm !

Thank you so much!

It's seldom possible to say "never" when you're talking about grammar. If you're talking about this "Once I will go..."is wrong. then you are correct, it's wrong.

Yes. No future there, please.

Pamela81example: "once I have got the info, I will go ahead" ? or should it be "once I get the info" ?
Both are fine. Same meaning. The second might emphasize a little more that I'm waiting for the information and that I will act o
