Vocabulary

once in a century

Hi:

I have a question, that is how to say something that can only be met/seen once in a hundred years?

For example:

A flood that is the biggest in the last century.

Well, should you like Faulkner's manner of combining words (say in "Light of August"), you may want to say: centuryrare :-) Now, joking aside, I think that "seen once in a hundred years," that you mention, is quite appropriate. Let's see what others might want to say.
