Once every/each ten minutes

Alice was nervous about the time during the exam, so she looked at her watch about once every ten minutes.

Hi,

I don't think "each" can replace "every" in the above but I don't know why. Can you dig up a reason? Thanks.

Hi Angliholic, We use every (not each ) to say how often something happens: Eg: every day, every minute..... So, I think 'each' would be inappropriate here. Regards, Prajwal

Hi Angliholic,

We use every (not each) to say how often something happens:

Eg: every day, every minute.....

So, I think 'each' would be inappropriate here.
