Once again

Once again, I saw him in the fruit store.
Once again, I got a chance to play with my friend.

When everyone requested him he returned back to the stage and played the same tune once again.

This time he took lot of effort to get through the test, unfortunately he failed once again.

Can I begin the sentence with once again? and can we also use once again at the end of the sentence? Other than in the beginning and at the end of the sentences, where does once again often takes it's positions in the sentences?

Thanks

Wonder123Why can't I use the pronoun like him or he in the above sentences?
What do you mean? You can and you did, it seems to me.

I saw him in the fruit store.

A very, very minor comment .

In N. America, I have never seen a store that sells only fruit.

Since you replaced all the pronouns that I used in the sentences with it in the sentences edited by you, a question about pronoun popped out of my mind. Could you please let me know why you used it so that I can understand the concept of once again c

Ah! Because we don't 'request a person' (unless we're looking for a prostitute); we request an action or condition ('it') of a person.

So I can't use pronoun like this: Even though he prepared hard for the examination, once again he failed to pass the exam.

That pronoun is fine there. Your problem eludes me.

Ok thanks, since in previous replies you mentioned that we need to use it of a person, I got a little confusion. So I wrote the above sentence to get a feedback from you.

You cannot use 'it' of a person; your sentence above was merely constructed wrong:

Yours: (X) When everyone requested him he returned back to the stage
Mine: When everyone requested it..., he returned to the stage ('it' = 'a return to the stage')
