I read the following scripture from the bible this morning, and I wasn't sure the meaning of the 'on the account'.

I think it's got the meaning of 'from now on' or similar.

I just thought it might be an old way of saying (because it's the bible) if it's got the meaning of 'from now on'...am I right with this one (an old style)? Well ...
