In a game review I heard the reviewer said "the game is a little on the short side"

Can anyone tell me what it means?

It could mean that it did not last very long. Another meaning - not a very long distance - if the golfer consistently doesn't hit very long drives, he game could be a little on the short side. Or the golf course itself, if it has a lower total yardage than other courses, could be on the short side.
