Vocabulary

on the shelves

Hello there,

I've looked up some dictionaries to find the defintion of the phrase unlined.
Still those explantions -- something that is not used, useless things etc-- do not make sense to me.

Isn't there any possibilty the phrase means 'something on the market, that is, something selling now' ?
Just because that sounds more proper to me... so... I hope to hear your opinions.

Thanks as always~

Hi. It is just a casual way of referring to the products that sit on shelves in stores now. If you go into a Wall*Mart store, there are 50,000 or more items for sale sitting on shelves.

Thanks for taking your time.
Now I've realized common senses are always important to figure out the meaning in some context.^^
