On the quality front/on the technical front
Hello, everyone.
I am reading the report about High Yield mutual fund. Then I have trouble to understand two expressions, which are "on the quality fron" and "on the technical fron." My friend says it is about the kind of stocks, and he think "quality" means the regular big company's stock and "technical" means the JASDAQ. Other friend say these are expression about analysis. Please read below and give me some advise.
1. The Merrill Lynch High Yield Master index closed Semptember up 1.39%, aided by a Treasury rally and strong technicals. Year-to-date performance jumped to 6.05%. On the quality front, CCC's showed the biggest gains.
2. Moody's expects the default rate to bottom out at 1.5% by year end and upgrades are expected to continue outpacing downgrades. In other positive news, Sepetember was a very strong month on the technical front.
