Grammar

on the other hand vs. on the other side

Hi, teachers,
(A) They'd love to have kids, but on the other "hand", they don't want to give up their freedom.
(B) They'd love to have kids, but on the other "side", they don't want to give up their freedom.

I know (A) is a correct sentence, but is (B) correct?
Thank U for ur help.

Hello, kangaroo—and welcome to English Forums. B is grammatically fine; it is just not colloquial, at least where I come from.
