On the opposite side of the town from my house

Please look at this, which shows where my house, a restaurant and we are located.
---------------------------
-
-. A. X. B
-
---------------------------
A = my house
X = where we are now.
B = the restaurant

"I've heard the restaurant is quite good, but I haven't been there because it is located on the opposite side of the town from my house."

Does this make sense?
Thank you.

No, that doesn't sound natural. Try: I've heard that restaurant is quite good, but I haven't been there because it's in the other part of town (far from my house).
