On the one hand ... on the other side

can i use these two parts of the different expressions in one sentence, f.e.

on the one hand it is useful but on the other side it is difficult to learn.

On the one hand it is useful, but on the other, it is difficult to learn.

We always prefer to use idiomatic structures when it's possible.
