On the bounce

I heard some guy saying "she's on the bounce". What does it mean? I understood that he was talking about his relationship with his girl friend.

Hi guys,

I think a more common version of this expression is 'She's on the rebound'.

This means she falls in love with you today because she broke up with her previous lover yesterday. ie she is emotionally vulnerable today.

The underlying image is that of someone who throws a ball against a wall so that it rebounds in the opposite direction.

And it must be mentioned that there is this other meaning (although probably not applicable here):

--------
on the bounce

on the spur of the moment, spontaneously
(the idea bounces into one's brain)
