Grammar

On the base of - on the basis of

Hi there!

what is correct and what is the difference between the two?

I use to write: "We prepare the stand design on the basis of your requests" could I use "on the base of" as well?

Can I say " We prepare the stand design basing on your requests"?

Thanks

Regards

Pamela

Pamela81 I used to write: "We prepare the stand design on the basis of your requests" could I use "on the base of" as well? Your sentence sounds odd. com/dictionary/stand_2 If so then I would rewrite the sentence as follows: We prepare the design of the stand in accordance with your request(s).

Your sentence sounds odd. Just to be sure I understand, I'm assuming that the "stand" you're talking about is one of definitions 3-6 on this page:

Hi!

thanks for the reply.

As for stand I meant a booth . Exhibition stand

"We prepare the design of the stand (why not the stand design???) in accordance with your requests" it is Ok but can I also say: "according to your requests"?

Why then is wrong to say "I usually....." (you corrected me and wrote "I used to..." I wrote "usually"because it is something I do

From your original post:
I use to write
This should be "I used to write" or it should be rephrased as you have done to: "I usually write"
"We prepare the design of the stand (why not the stand design???) in accordance with your requests" it is Ok but can I also say: "according to your requests"?
"stand design" is grammatically correct but it sounds odd

Dear,

thank you. I understand the point but I´m confused about the use of "I use to" or "I usually ..."

Is "I use to" wrong ? Should I say "I´m used to" ? and if is it correct, has the same meaning of "I usually..."

Thanks!

Pamela
