On the "back" of my hand

Hi teachers,

When someone asks you to write a phone number down on the back of your hand, does it mean writing it on your palm, where you can see the wisdom line, life line and other lines, or the side with figurenails and that faces out when you form a fist?

Thank you.

No, the back of your hand is the opposite side of your palm. Although people tend to use their palm as a writing surface more often.

Hi Goodman,

Thank you for answering my question. I always get confused when people saying this. I believe I heard it wrong.

Would lie your back on the floor means your face is faced upward and your spine is against the floor?

Thank you.

When one is lying on his back, his nose is facing up.

When you come home and you told your mom you are going to lie down for a few minutes and ask her to wake you up for dinner, you mean to tell her you want to rest for a few minutes. It didn't have to mention if you are lying down facie-up or on your side.
