On register and fora/ums

When writing/communicating in these fora/ums, which register do you feel you generally write in?

Background:

In linguistics, a register is a subset of a language used for a particular purpose or in a particular social setting. For example, an English speaker may adhere more closely to prescribed grammar, pronounce words ending in -ing with a velar nasal (e.g. "walking", not "walkin'") and refrain from using the word "ain't" when speaking in a formal setting, but the same person could violate all of these prescriptions in an informal setting.

Personally, I think I try to adapt to the previous register of the thread. Similarly, I'm not going to use particularly complicated structures if I think that the people reading them are unlikely to be able to interpret them.

I know, but in your definition of the word "register", what would you say the general style/register is in your posts here?
Pontifex maximal.

I can't use many registers, because my vocabulary is too limited, LOL. Anyway, I tend to use informal registers, since this is the net, land of lolz and OMGz. This is not only a forum, but also a community, where lots of different registers can be expected

<Most people here (natives) tend to use more formal registers in my opinion, but you also have to consider the average age.>

A kind of "English Forums" register, I would say.

Hi,

Ha-ha. It's impressive to see that you aren't worried about offending the people who answer your queries.

I think the people who usually answer on the Forum try to present themselves as role models, using a reasonably educated but 'middle of the road' kind of register.

Very generally speaking, do you

2.0 to 2.5 on average, but I try to include some 1.0 and 3.0 to stretch the learners a bit, if they seem advanced enough for it.
