"on our world" vs "in our world"

It's a sci-fi/fantasy story.

Person A wants to write: "They were looking for something stored on our world..."

Person B thinks it should be : "They were looking for something stored in our world..."

"They" in this context is a group of space-faring aliens.

Person A thinks you can say "on our world" similar to how you can say "on our roof" or "on our boat".

Person B thinks it has to be "in our world", because you wouldn't say 'something stored in France'.

Who's right?

Woops, typo in that 2nd last line.

Person B thinks it has to be "in our world", because you wouldn't say 'something stored on France'.
