On others or on the others?

Hi. Please tell me which is correct. Thank you for your help in advance.

Fictitious scenario: There are six blank cards and a person has to put stickers on five (and not on the remaining one).

Take one out and put stickers on others (or "on the others").

I'd have a comma in there: Take one out, and put stickers on the others. This helps the reader, who otherwise has to backtrack when he discovers that "and" introduced an independent clause.
