On or on the or in the earth?

Hi. Please help. Which is correct in the following example sentence? I believe the phrase "on earth" means "in the world."

He performed stunning acts on / on the / in the earth.

Sorry, but none makes sense, probably because of the context. It sounds like he is a prodigious gravedigger. 'On earth' has limited use in semi-fixed situations, so I don't think you can throw it into just any sentence to mean 'in the world': The Greatest Show on Earth (Barnum & Bailey's Circus) What on earth are you doing up so early?!

Thank you. In Daniel 6:27 of the Bible in the New International Version, this is part of what King Darius said about the *** of Daniel after Daniel miraculously survived after having been thrown into a lions' den. I think I often see the phrase "on the earth" in the Bible and feel we can use "on earth" or "in the world" in its place a lof of times. Please help. Thank you in advance for your help.

The Bible (most versions are based on the 1611 King James version) has many phrases that are no longer so common. It is a poor source of modern English phrasing.

I am unclear as to what you need help with, precisely. In your quote, 'on the earth' (= on our planet) is in contrast to 'in the heavens'.
