Hi, The figures on the powerpoint slides don't make sense.
The figures IN the powerpoint slides don't make sense.

ON or IN?

If there specific situations in which on/in are used for the word "slide"?

Thank you.

Either 'in' or 'on' sounds fine to me.

'in' focuses on the content. 'on' focuses on the fact that they are flat objects with a surface.

If you are referring to the physical aspect of a slide, you'll need 'on'.

There is a scratch on this slide.
