It appears that the editor has failed me again. Part of that was to be lined out. I'll try to play with the editor and see if I can make it look right.

British English: I hope I do well in this test.
American English: I hope I do well on this test.

Broadly speaking, at least. I'm not an expert on British English, but "do well in a test" would sound decidedly odd to an American.
