On or about

On also has the same meaning as ' about', but I am not sure when we can use ' on' instead of ' about'. For example, in the following sentnece, which one is better and why?

Let' have time to share your ideas on( or about?) the follwoing topics with your classmates.

I guess we are dealing with propositions where we could find the intricacy , in this case we're forced to use " about " , it's apparently that we are talking about topics so we must share ( about ) not " on " it's uncommon to use it ... as we all know that share must be followed by " in / of " when it used as noon ... but in this case we using it as a verb ...
