Can you please tell me how to use "on one occasion"? As I understand it means "once". If I use it, can I specify what occasion it is, or not?
For instance: "On one occasion, I lost my wallet (I don't say exactly when or where it happened).
Or:
"On one occasion, I lost my wallet when I was on my holidays in Prague" (I say where I lost it).
Are both sentences correct? If not, which sentence is?

There's no point in saying 'on one occasion' unless you're going to say what occasion it is. You may describe the occasion in general terms or in detail, but you have to give the reader some idea of what it is
