On one bounce

"The ball went into the basket on one bounce."
Does it mean that the ball went directly into the basket without bouncing before that or does it mean that the ball went into the basket after taking one bounce ?

Thanks CJ,
Can we say "The ball went into the basket on two bounces", meaning that the ball bounced twice before going into the basket ?
Would the meaning change if we replaced "bounce" with "drop" as in "The ball went into the basket on two drops" ?
