Context: I am thinking about something that gives exciting and nervous.

Going on a trip is on my mind.



Starting a new business is on my mind.

Can we use the "on my mind" phrase in those contexts?

I think you've got the basic idea, but we wouldn't say these exactly like that.

"on my mind" is more like saying something is bothering you. You feel somewhat worried about it.

I had a lot on my mind because I was considering starting a new business.
