Can I say,

The beehive is in the tree.

A beehive is on the branch of the tree.

A beehive is on the branch of the tree. I have trouble accepting two different definite articles. I'm not quite sure why. I'd say, "on a branch of the tree," or "on the branch of a tree." But I think yours is grammatical.
