Can I say,

(a) Mrs Lim is the famous singer in the stage.

(b) She is famous on the stage.

(a) Mrs Lim is the famous singer in the stage. - No. To be in the stage she would have to be a floorboard!

(b) She is famous on the stage. - Yes this is OK. You might just say she is famous for being on the stage.

How does this sound to other native speakers? It sounds right to me. [Darn those pesky prepositions!]
