'on days that I get back home before 5'

Is this sentence grammatically correct and idiomatic?

"I should exercise on days that I return home before 5."

Or is this a better alternative

"I should exercise on days on which I return home before 5."

Thank you for helping me ^^

  • While, in the second one, the fact the book is lost is more important.

From the Concise Oxford's point of view, you should probably say

'' I should exercise on days I return home before 5.''

It says that the conjunction that specifies something whereas which doesn't.

Compare :

The book that I sent her is lost.

The book, which I sent her, is lost.

Both are correct and idiomatic. The first is more natural; the second, much more formal and a little odd to use for a very informal topic like a personal excercise schedule.
