On Dartmoor or In Dartmoor

Hi.

Why has it used on instead of in in this book review?

The Hound of the Baskervilles is a Sherlock Holmes detective story. It is a story about a curse and a supernatural dog. It's set in London and on dark,damp Dartmoor more than 100 years ago.
