On behalf of or in behalf of?

Hallo teacher,

Is there a different between "on behalf of" and "in behalf of" ?

What does it mean ; Please don't leave on my behalf..

My advice is to only use "on behalf" even though "in behalf" is fairly common. Here is the usage note from answers.com:
