On behalf of and instead of

Hello everyone,

Are always the phrases "on behelf of" and "instead of" interchangeable, as in the following sentences?

1. I want to speak instead of you.

Or I want to speak on behalf of you.

2. Can we use this word "fat" instead of "thick" in that sentence?

Or Can we use this word "fat" on behalf of "thick" in that sentence?
