on [a/the] Friday

I usually take my dog to the dog park on [a/the/' '] Friday.

Which of the choices is correct? If the sentence is not idiomatic, what would you say?

Thanks in advance!

If you take your dog there each and every Friday, I think a good choice would be:

I usually take my dog to the dog park on Fridays.

Sorry for not making it clear. I wanted the sentence to mean 'every friday' without using the word 'every'.

I like Tanit's answer.

Yoong Liat, by the way, could you help me understand the meaning of your answer? Does it mean I only take my dog out to the park once?

Thank you, guys.

Glad that you liked it, but I'd suggest waiting for a native Emotion: wink

Just a quick question, Tanit. Is it correct to say "I'd suggest waiting"?

I remember recently there was a thread about suggest. I think a correct way of saying that is "I'd suggest we/you wait". I could be wrong.

"I'd suggest waiting ..." is fine.

Hi N2G,

As far as I know, "I'd suggest we wait" is absolutely correct.
However, "suggest" can be followed also by a gerund. Here's an example from http://dictionary.cambridge.org/define.asp?key=79679&dict=CALD' online dictionary: I suggested putting the matter to the commit

I usually take my dog to the dog park on a Friday. (not referring to any specific Friday)

Because you take your dog to the park every Friday; therefore, it would be appropriate to use Fridays.
