on and in

Hi all British teachers,

I have some questions about 'on', 'at' and 'in'. I wonder when they are used in British English.

For example,
1. There is a temple on Peterson's Road/ Street.
2. You will find Peterson Cathedral in Peterson Road
3. There is a temple in/on the road/street.

I don't know why 'on' used in 1 while 'in' in 2. Any difference?

Many thanks
