I'm about to travel to Hamilton Island. While I'm there am I "On Hamilton Island" or "In Hamilton Island"?

It depends on the context.



'On' for a small island. And it sounds right to me to say 'On Hamilton Island', because you include the word 'Island'.



But we commonly say 'in Cuba', 'in Bermuda', 'in Jamaica'. So probably ''in Hamilton', if it can be referred to that way.
