'on account of which' as a sentence connector

Example: He did as he was told, on account of which his boss was happy.

Now can we use this phrase and 'owing to which' or 'because of which' or 'as a result of which' to connect sentences in this manner?

You could, I suppose, but all of those expressions make for very awkward sentences that would be attacked by any editor or English teacher. He did as he was told, so his boss was happy.
