On a video/in a video

I'm confused between these two, I don't know if it should be an ON or an IN:
"to avoid putting a comment ON a video about..." or "to avoid putting a comment IN a video about..."

"in a video" = it is recorded at the same time as the other actions in the video. It is part of the video. "on a video" = it is added later, perhaps years after the video was recorded.
